My Radioworks Carolina Windom 160 Special arrived yesterday. It'll be going up today to replace the CW 40 if everything goes smoothly.

Well, it just made it. I have a few modifications to do once the weather improves a bit, but it's up, not touching the house, and is fairly close to straight (about 20 degrees along the two lengths). The only major obstacle is that the support at the corner of the house, two stories up, is only about 20 feet. The vertical radiating element is 22' feet long. I'm going to have to come up with something, but for now, it's up. What a difference on 80 meters! I made 3 QSO's earlier today, to gentlemen in Decatur, Illinois; Springfield, Illinois; and Iowa. All 3 reported 10 over 9. Previously with the CW 40, I could hear everyone, but couldn't be heard at all. It's night and day!
