Why do so few hams use personal web sites?

Just curious, why do so few hams have personal web sites? This site certainly makes it easy to do and the only expense is voluntary. Then, to make it worse, almost half of the sites on here have no information on them. I can understand not wanting to post too many personal details, but if your going to the trouble of registering with this site, can't you at least post a little info about yourself and your background?

Same reason most people don't have personal websites. Too busy with life to spend time showing off "look at me!"

I look at it as trying to stir up more interest in Ham Radio. I see you aren't above a personal web site, either.
It appears to me we (amateur radio operators) spend far more time on the internet than we do on the air. I am as guilty as anyone else, but, were are licensed Amateur Radio "Operators", we really need to spend more time on the air. 20 years ago an HT on your belt drew lots of questions from those that weren't familiar with hams, today they don't even get a second look. The number of visible antennas has dwindled locally to the point, I wonder if anyone gets on the air at all anymore. I am trying to spread the word in any way I can, if you think it is showing off, that is fine, you did look at my page, so it is accomplishing what I wanted it to.

I'm also surprised more Ham's aren’t doing the website thing. Look at QRZ.Com - It is really easy to upload a picture and add some comments. There aren't a lot of good ones. I think the Internet is here to stay - If we want our hobby to remain relevant we need to get Ham Radio all over the internet and let people know that Computers aren’t the only cool bits of electronics and technology out there :)

Nothing wrong with having a personal page, or website. It wouldn't be wise to post confidential information there. I have a short google personal page of my own. Not a running blog. That would make tiresome reading.

Reports of portable or IOTA operations are good to read. Especially if photos are included. Personal opinions of new rigs acquired can be helpful. Operating from other countries is interesting and informative reading. And I'm not talking, necessarily, of exotic DX-peditions.

I think that a short personal page with photos makes good viewing after a QSO with another operator. Just to put a face on the individual we spent some time with on the air.
